Qeepsake alternatives: choose a different way to record
Qeepsake sends age-based questions, saves replies by text in your child’s journal, and lets you order hardcover or softcover photo books. It is a sensible fit if a question helps you notice and record a memory. Start with the part of that routine you want to keep before choosing another app.
Pagewren is our app and appears first below. Competitor facts come from the other apps’ U.S. App Store listings cached on October 25, 2026. Platforms use device compatibility and minimum iOS versions; BackThen also names email, web and other mobile platforms in its description. We do not list prices or ratings.
What Qeepsake offers
You can record photos and milestones by text or in the Qeepsake app, upload photos and videos, edit entries, and preview or order a family album. A spouse or other contributors can add to the child’s journal. Choose it if text replies and contributions from family suit the way you already communicate.
When you might want to switch
Start with your own priorities: a book organized into age chapters, recording without creating an account, or a timeline for browsing memories. For a physical keepsake, consider whether you want a complete book or pages delivered as you finish chapters. Use those preferences to choose which apps to try.

Alternatives to consider
1. Pagewren, our app: write when you have a memory
Pagewren makes a page from a photo or a few words, with chapters by age and milestones you can mark. You can batch-import older photos, add voice notes, put a monthly photo on a chapter page and look back with On This Day or widgets. It works on iPhone with iOS 17 or later and needs no account. There are no ads or social feed.
Qeepsake’s recording routine includes age-based questions answered by text. Pagewren lets you start a page whenever you choose and has no ongoing writing prompts. Its free features include unlimited photo and text memories, age chapters, milestones, widgets, Classic styling, three page backgrounds and Classic PDF export. You can also share a single page as an image. Pro adds themes, all page backgrounds, iCloud Sync and Privacy Lock, with monthly, yearly and Lifetime options.
Choose Pagewren if you want private recording without an account and a PDF you can keep. It does not offer shared family editing or print and deliver physical books.
2. The Short Years: build a physical book in installments
The Short Years reminds you weekly to upload a photo and answer questions, then prints and ships pages each time you complete three chapters after purchasing a book. Consider The Short Years if you want physical pages to put into a book as chapters are completed.
3. BabyPage: edit a starting point for your story
BabyPage supplies generated content for each age or stage that you can edit, and lets friends and family collaborate. BabyPage describes a digital dashboard and books you can print. Consider BabyPage if you want starting text to customize or a record that includes pregnancy journals and older children. Its description includes pregnancy journals and memory books for children of any age.
4. BackThen: browse a timeline for each child
BackThen organizes each child’s photos and videos on a timeline and lets you invite family and friends with permissions you set. It lists iOS, email, web and other mobile platforms, along with Photo Books and prints. Consider BackThen if browsing a timeline and access from different devices matter most.
5. Tinybeans: upload moments for invited relatives
Tinybeans lets you upload memories individually or in batches, sorts them by date, and limits followers to people you invite. It also offers photo book creation in the app. Consider Tinybeans if date-organized uploads and a family audience fit your routine.
When Qeepsake is still the better choice
Qeepsake combines age-based text questions, contributions from a spouse or others, and hardcover or softcover book ordering. If those are the features you want together, staying may be the better choice. Pagewren has no ongoing questions, shared editing or physical book service, so it will not replace that combination.
Before you move your memories
Try a few entries in the new app first. Check what you can preserve from your old record before removing anything, and keep copies of the original photos. Pagewren can batch-import older photos from your photo library. It cannot import journal entries or book layouts from other apps.
